So when we think about phishing we think of the indian gold scam"ello sir my name id ramesh i ave $3,000,000 in gold i need moved. I only need $2,500 in gift card from you. While that does still exist i'm gonna show you how I a Cyber Security studebt got Phished.
I was doing school work and recieved a email that said "Dear User This is you last chance" The email even used the proper .com format not some random character set so i clicked on the link it led to a free wix domain. I had X'd out of it .Then had the thought well I don't want to get locked out so i put my info in 20 minutes later i gotr a email from my organaisation that it was phishing and Not A Test i ironnically enough got locked out of all my accounts and had to do a full reset
The moral of this story is twofold one trust your instincts if you do think its off, and remember we are all human even the pros make mistakes. have a great day!
